The Vision Program is a 300-page comprehensive early intervention guide that assists parents and family members to meet the specific and unique needs of infants and young children with blindness or visual impairment. The program includes 4 basic parts: (1) a comprehensive list of developmental skills affected by vision loss including sensory, literacy, independence, and visual motor skills; (2) daily routines which are ideal times to practice skills; (3) over 50 lessons for parents and family members to teach specific skills unique to the child with blindness or vision impairment; and (4) a vision transition checklist to assess skills the child is developing for use in preschool settings. The program also includes a CD with reproducible pages and laminated Vision Skills Sheets. This program was developed by Early Intervention Directors and Consultants at the Utah School for the Blind.
